Dr. Edward Sri
Dr. Edward Sri is professor of theology and Scripture at the Augustine Institute’s masters program in catechetics and evangelization in Denver. He is the author of several Catholic books, including The Da Vinci Deception: 100 Questions About the Facts and Fiction of The Da Vinci Code. Dr. Sri is a founding leader with Curtis Martin of FOCUS (Fellowship of Catholic University Students) and continues to serve on the FOCUS executive staff. He appears on EWTN and regularly writes and speaks on Scripture, apologetics and the Catholic faith. Dr. Sri holds a doctorate from the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas in Rome and continues to serve as a visiting adjunct professor at Benedictine College where he taught full-time for nine years. He resides with his wife, Elizabeth, and their four children in Littleton, Colorado.
Bringing a wealth of experience and insight on the Word of God to audiences across the U.S., Thomas is a repeat guest on EWTN and Catholic radio as well as a sought after parish mission and conference speaker. He is the co-author of Revelation: The Kingdom Yet to Come and an international presenter for The Great Adventure Bible Timeline. He has taught as an adjunct professor at the St. Francis School of Theology in Denver, and is the former Director of the Denver Catholic Biblical School and the Denver Catechetical School. Martha Fernandez-Sardina serves as the director of the Office for Evangelization of the Archdiocese of San Antonio. Martha authors two columns in Today’s Catholic, co-hosts the radio show Rise and Walk on the Guadalupe Radio Network, and produces and hosts Prepare The Way, an evangelization series on Catholic Television of San Antonio. She holds a master’s degree in theology and Christian ministry and a licentiate in clinical psychology.
Ben Akers is the Director of the Denver Catholic Biblical School and the Denver Catholic Catechetical School. Heattended Christendom College and earned degrees in Theology and Philosophy. At Mount St. Mary's in Emmitsburg, MD he attained a Master of Arts in Theological Studies with a concentration in Sacred Scripture. He worked as a campus missionary for FOCUS (the Fellowship of Catholic University Students) for three years. He and his wife, Heather directed the Christendom College Study Abroad Program in Rome. During his time in Rome he attained the degree of a Licence in Sacred Theology (STL) summa cum laude in Dogmatic Theology from the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (known as the Angelicum). He is currently working on his dissertation for the doctorate in Sacred Theology. Before going to Rome he was an adjunct instructor at the Catholic Biblical School.
Scott Powell is an instructor at the Denver Catholic Biblical School and an adjunct professor at the Augustine Institute. With Dr. Tim Gray, he is the coauthor of Exodus: Called to Freedom. Scott holds master’s degree in Sacred Scripture from the Augustine Institute and is currently a doctoral candidate at the University of South Africa. Scott, his wife, Annie, and their daughter, Lily Avila, live near Boulder, Colorado.
Anne Marie Chiaravalloti
Anne Marie joined Ascension Press in 2010 as a Group Specialist to support Great Adventure group leaders throughout the country. With more than fifteen years experience in account management, project management, and event planning, her customer service, communications, and organizational skills significantly assist leaders to greatly impact their faith formation. Over the years, Anne Marie has been involved in several Catholic youth and young adult ministries, leading small groups and retreats. She currently serves as a board member for Generation Life, a pro-life organization based in West Chester, Pennsylvania, and is a singer with Bethany Music Ministry in East Norriton, Pennsylvania.
John received his bachelors in theology from Benedictine College in Atchison, KS, where he studied under Edward Sri, and his masters in theology from Franciscan University in Steubenville where he focused his studies on systematic theology. John is the Brand Manager of The Great Adventure Bible Study Program, and was the research assistant for A Biblical Walk Through the Mass Study. He regularly volunteers with Habitat for Humanity, is an active member of his parish, as well as a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus. John, his wife, and their four children live in West Chester, PA.
Janene is a graduate of St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia with a degree in politics and a minor in history. Before joining Ascension Press, she worked in the culinary industry as a recruiter. Janene is actively involved in her parish as an extraordinary minister of the Eucharist. In her spare time, she is an avid dancer and enjoys the outdoors and traveling. Janene and her husband, Conrad, live in the Philadelphia area with their daughter, Gabrielle.
With a business degree in marketing and more than fifteen years of experience in launching several small businesses of her own, Corinne assists our Great Adventure Bible study leaders in helping to make their parish studies more fruitful. Since 2006, Corinne has led Great Adventure Bible studies at her local parish and is actively involved as a volunteer in her local community. Corinne resides in New Jersey with her husband, Timothy, and their four children.
